Back to About Levarht

strong roots

Our story begins in the 1930s. Just outside Amsterdam, Jan Levarht starts selling his own vegetables from a carrier bike. This quickly turned out to be a success! Shortly after the Second World War, he set up a real wholesale business from the Levarht family home in Aalsmeer. Jan's mission is to provide the world with the best, most beautiful and exotic fruits and vegetables. Setting this up, he enters into partnerships with growers from home and abroad. In the decades that follow, Levarht grows into one of the major international players in the field of fruit and vegetable. Still a family business and with the same mission and pioneering spirit as in the 1930s, but with all the possibilities of today.
