The blueberry has a distinctive dark blue colour and dull, matt surface. The berries originate from North America and have been grown in Europe since the 1950s.
The blueberry is often mistaken for the bilberry, but they really are quite distinct. The blueberry tastes different and has a colourless juice, whilst the bilberry’s juice is a deep purple colour. Blueberries are also considerably larger, with a diameter of up to 2.5 cm.
Blueberries are available all year round. There are various packaging options for blueberries and would be happy to discuss the options with you.
