Watermelon ‘ceviche’

1 large seedless watermelon
1 medium onion
1 red bell pepper
1 roll of cilantro
Juice of 5 lemons
Salt and pepper to taste

Our colleague Maribel at Rica Fruta loves to share here recipe of Watermelon Ceviche. 'Ceviche' is a word used in Central America for recipes made with raw fish. Very typical in our countries, in this case instead of fish we used watermelon to refresh the dish. You can use mango as well.


  1. Cut the watermelon into small squares and set aside
  2. Besides let’s cut finely the onion, bell pepper and cilantro, add the diced watermelon, add lemon juice and finally season it with salt and pepper to taste.

Delicious, refreshing source of vitamin C.

Tip: you can serve small coups served  with toasted tortilla.
